This beautiful handmade table has a very contemporary feel thanks to the styling of the bowed stretcher and the soft creamy colouring of the kiln dried English chestnut. It has been finished with oil. Sweet chestnut grain is open and fairly coarse so it’s great to use as an alternative to oak for wide expanses like table tops. The bowed stretcher means that end chairs can be slid further under the table which is particularly good on tables with less overhang.
