Steve is often contacted by interior design companies looking for a furniture maker to craft something extra special for their client. In this particular case, Steve was asked to make a substantial Regency style table as part of a larger refurbishment project. It was a table for the elegant Grade II listed Regency mansion, Puckrup Hall, which is currently owned and run by the Hilton hotel group.
Puckrup Hall can be found near Tewkesbury, set in 140 acres of private grounds, on the edge of the Cotswolds. It was formally an historic family home and dates back to the early 19th century. The new table was to be placed in the “pantry” part of the Dining and Service area, where it would work as a striking breakfast serving table.
Given the heritage of the building and the size of the table, the design and specifications required some thorough thought on Steve’s part. It was essential that the table was sympathetic to its surroundings. Working closely with the interior design company, a traditional Regency style table design was selected with an elegantly shaped and proportioned pillar leg and low set slider. The end result is a beautiful 10ft by 3ft6″ table, made in English oak, with a respectful nod to the Regency style.
Whether you’re looking for a piece of furniture for the grandeur of a large country house or for the practicality of a modern home, Steve is always happy to help. He will work closely with you to make sure you have exactly the right piece that is unique to you and your family’s way of living.
