Portfolio

The trestle table is a type of table supported by a frame made up of two or more trestles. Historically, they were often used in medieval and Renaissance times as portable tables for feasts or gatherings. The table top is typically long and rectangular, and the trestle base often has a decorative, functional, or practical design.

The Curved Leg Trestle Table has a wonderfully contemporary feel while still retaining the impactful presence of a more traditional dining table. The introduction of soft curves to the supports gives a real generosity to the overall feel of the base. Allowing the table to complement a wide range of interior design styles.

This popular and appealing design works very well with either a straight edge or live edge tabletop. The stretcher can be placed at floor level, hidden under the tabletop, or placed midway as with this example. This particular trestle table was handmade in English oak to a substantial 3m by 1.10m. Very comfortably seating 12 people, easily seating 14 people, and at a push allowing 16 people to enjoy a festive Christmas lunch together!
