This particular handmade table is beautifully crafted in English Elm which as you can see has a stunning swirling grain. English Elm is a rarity these days due to the devastating Dutch Elm disease which destroyed thousands of our healthy Elms, although there are still small pockets around and more in Scotland and Wales. There is good news for the Elm tree, there are a couple of species that have been developed to be resistant to the disease and are gradually being introduced to the English countryside.
